About This Item
London: Longmans, Green, and Co. , 1900. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 7.5" by 5". None . A collection of poetry by William Morris, a lovely early printing. A collection of poems by William Morris, popular British author, printer, designer, and more, recognised as one of the most significant cultural figures of Victorian Britain. An excellent copy of this work from the Kelmscott Press Edition as revised by the author. The original edition appeared in 1858, and it was the first book of Pre-Raphaelite poetry to be published. The poems are dark and set in a sombre world of violence, thus he was discouraged from publishing more for a number of years. Including 'The Haystack in the Floods,' 'The Defence of Guenevere,' 'Old Love,' 'The Judgement of God,' and 'Spell-Bound' among others. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally excellent with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. With only faint minor marking to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are clean with only a touch of age toning, as usual. Very Good Indeed
