About This Item
Inscribed by Brinton Turkle on the title page. First edition hardcover, with dust jacket, published by Dutton, 1976. In this wordless picture book, a log cabin deep in the forest receives a little visitor, a bear cub, what will he do in the house while the family is taking a walk? Turkle provided the art for more than 100 children's books, and wrote and illustrated 20 of his own titles, this being his first. Signed and inscribed on the title page - 'For Carol, Brinton Turkle'. A first edition - sixth printing copy. 10" X 8", 36 pages. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Sturdy cover boards, with brown cloth covered spine. Boards are flat, the corners are not bumped or worn. No edge wear to the boards. This copy is a 'Reinforced binding' edition, though it was not issued to a library. Former owner's blind stamp on the first flyleaf - a circular impression mark about 1" across. Reinforced binding is tight and square. No further marks or writing besides the blind stamp. Text pages are clean and free of marks or creases. This is not a remainder, not a library discard copy. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
