A narrative of Death Valley by publisher, author, explorer George Palmer Putnam (1887 - 1950), husband to Amelia Earhart and author of Soaring Wings (1939). The story of the deserts the emigrants lured by gold fields and found the desert. Appendix to rear carries pointers on visiting Death Valley half century ago, and a thorough bibliography on principal books on the subject available at that time. Fine copy less dust jacket.
