Octavo, 304pp. A presentation copy, SIGNED and INSCRIBED on the front free endpaper two days before the official publication date: "For Louis and Ann De Forest - with the best wishes & thanks of a friend who sincerely values their friendship & belief in what he does, Tom Wolfe, Nov. 12, 1935." Gilt lettering on the spine a bit rubbed, otherwise a fine copy in lightly worn jacket, very good or better, preserved in a handsome custom-made half-morocco slipcase. .
Synopsis
Wolfe's third published book, and his first of short stories, this collection contains his popular "Only the Dead Know Brooklyn," written in a Brooklyn dialect.
