Illustrated paperback binding with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A translation of the French mediaeval romance La Mort le Roi Artu. The Arthurian world is in its twilight, the Round Table is depleted of numbers due to the Quest of the Holy Grail and is sick at heart. Lancelot is having an adulterous affair with Guinevere, and, the treacherous Mordred arrives with events culminating at the last Battle of Salisbury where Aurthur and Lancelot die and the kingdom of Logres is destroyed. Minor creasing of the book corners with rubbing of the book edges and panels. Age toning of the text block edges and pages with previous owners name to the top right hand corner of the half title page. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series.
