About This Item

Cleveland: The World Publishing Company, 1946. First Thus. Near Fine/Very Good. First edition of the Tower Books Motion Picture Edition, first movie tie-in book for RKO Radio pictures. The movie, also dated 1946, starred Susan Hayward (pictured on the front of the jacket), Bill Williams, and Paul Lukas. In original, unclipped, jacket in protective sheet. Minor chipping at the head/tail of spine, minor creasing at some edges. Bound in black cloth over boards with a green bat and 'A Tower Mystery' on the front and green label and lettering on the spine. Light rubbbing at edges.  Solid and square. Endpapers with photographs from the film; bookplate from former owner on front pastedown under the jacket turn-in. The interior is toned due to the type of paper used, but it is clean and clear of any markings or inscriptions. William Irish was the pen-name of, Cornell Woolrich.
