About This Item

New York:: Random House,, (1972). SIGNED hardcover first edition -. Near fine in a near fine dust jacket (hint of spine slant.). First printing. The first mystery in the DKA File series. INSCRIBED by Gores to late Oklahoma collector, Larry Owens on the title page with a long and informative inscription that begins: "Skip is the first DKA and the most procedural. Except for the murders and the attack on Bart Haslip, it's almost exactly a replay of real life. . . " He then goes on to suggest comparing several pages to a Don Westlake novel to see something they dreamed up "one boozy night in 1971."
