About This Item

The Book club Collins 1957 These book club editions by collins came out shortly after Collins published the first editions. Most in the same year. yet these came out with their own original dust jacket designs and they are very attractive making them a collector's item in their own right. The book is very tight, and clean. The pages are clean but unevenly brown toned, some darker some lighter. Has ownership marking and address on FEP. Lovely dust jacket has some lost to front of jacket (see pics) and some more chip loss on bottom of front cover and also along edges and spine. As well as a couple small holes on spine and a little rubbing. Protected in mylar. Not clipped and not ex-lib.

Synopsis

Whilst organising a mock murder hunt for the village fete hosted by Sir George and Lady Stubbs, a feeling of dread settles on the famous crime novelist Adriane Oliver. Call it instinct, but it's a feeling she just can't explain…or get away from. In desperation she summons her old friend, Hercule Poirot – and her instincts are soon proved correct when the 'pretend' murder victim is discovered playing the scene for real, a rope wrapped tightly around her neck…But it's the great detective who first discovers that in murder hunts, whether mock or real, everyone is playing a part…
