The subtitle continues as follows: "A Short account of the natural history and habits of the salmon, instructions to sportsmen, anecdotes, etc." Illustrated by lithographs and wood engravings by L. Hague, T. Landseer, and S. Williams, from paintings by Sir David Wilkie, Edwin Landseer, R.A., Charles Landseer, William Simson, and Edward Cooke. The book is half bound in vellum effect paper, spine and corners, with the boards faced in matbled paper. Leather label on the spine bearing the title and author in gilt, publisher's name is also on the spine in gilt. Top edge gilt.Black endpapers. xxvi, 268 pages, Illustrated with full page plates with tissue guards by the aforementioned artists. The frontis is in colour. A good copy with some rubbing to the edges, previous owner's book plate on the front pastedown. And some browning to the page egdes, some spotting to tissue guards.The label on the spine is chipped with loss to part of the author's name.. Reprint.
