About This Item

London: Jonathan Cape, 1994. This excellent first childrens book by Ian McEwan coupled with the haunting illustrations of Anthony Browne create a quite unique childrens story that like all the best childrens adventures can be enjoyed by adults as well.Although an ex library copy this book has been very well looked after.Bound in the publishers original sage green cloth with gilt title lettering to spine. The 96 pages remain fresh and presentable and apart from usual library markings to the title page are in excellent condition throughout. The eyecatching pictorial dustjacket retains excellent colour tone and still shows the original publishers price of 8.99.Overall a lovely example of a book that is already something of a modern day classic.. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/Near Fine. Illus. by Anthony Browne.
