About This Item
London: Bodley Head, 1967. First edition, first printing. Published by The Bodley Head in London, 1967. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper, spectacularly designed and illustrated by Roy Spencer has some light handling marks throughout, with slight toning at the edges. There are light nicks to the corners and a mild closed tear at the top of the spine. It has not been price clipped and shows the original 21s net price. The original blue cloth is free from notable wear. The text blocks are clean throughout. This copy is tight and highly attractive, free from previous owners ink and in near fine condition. A collection of short stories, that explores the struggles of men and women and the desperation that can drive people to terrible compromises, reminding up that one can always find the extraordinary in what appears to be an ordinary life.
