London: Faber and Faber, 1961 . Cloth. Very Good/Very Good Indeed. 8" by 5.5". None. A new edition of this modern novel by Lawrence Durrell, set in Crete and complete with a dust wrapper. This work was originally published in 1947 under the title 'Cefalu', but was republished under the title 'The Dark Labyrinth' in 1958. Its events take place in Crete, with Minoan mythology underlining the plot.Lawrence Durrell (1912-1990) was a British novelist, travel writer and dramatist, the elder brother of Gerald Durrell. His other works include 'The Alexandria Quartet', 'Panic Spring' and 'The Black Book'.Complete with a clipped dust wrapper, with the price still intact. In the publisher's original full cloth binding with a clipped dust wrapper. Externally, generally smart with some slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine; tail of the spine has some white paint on it. Dust wrapper is clipped although price has not been affected, with some bumping to the head of the spine and chipping to the tail of the spine, and a number of small holes along the edges. Ownership inscription to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good
