London, George Allen & Unwin, 1926.. Seventh impression 1926, (first published in 1885), small 8vo, 185 x 125 mm, 7¼ x 5 inches, orange wrappers over stiff card, repeat illustration on upper cover, 20 pages. 4 line illustrations by Greenaway to 4 Ruskin verses, the other 18 woodcuts reproduced from the 1823 edition. All illustrations half-page. Spine very slightly faded, some inner joints cracked but binding firm, tiny neat name on front endpaper. A near Fine copy. Apart from the binding this is an exact replica of the first edition of 1885. Greenaway's drawings were mere sketches (pages 3, 4, 8 and 9), but Ruskin felt they needed no improvement and suited his verses, in their unfinished state (see Schuster 64, page 52).
