MacGibbon & Kee. London. 1964. MacGibbon & Kee. 1961. First edition, first issue. Hardback in DW. From the library of O'Brien's literary agency with the ownership signature of Robin Dalton and the words "File Copy" crossed out by Dalton to front free endpapers. Pages slightly browned otherwise a remarkably clean and fresh copy in wrapper that is sunned, slightly spotted to rear panel with one tiny closed tear to top of rear panel. Robin Dalton lived to 101 and had an extraordinary life and career. As a literary agent she represented Edna O'Brien, John Osborne, Iris Murdoch, Ben Travers, George Orwell, Margaret Drabble, B. S. Johnson, Bernice Rubens and many more. She also produced films, spied for Thai Government and for over five years dated the cousin and best man of Prince Philip. Born in Australia, she spent most of her adult life in London, surfed until she was 96 and went on entertaining people of all ages in her luxurious Hampstead flat until she died.
