The book was frist issued by th RTS in 1832. The Baptist Magazine of that year reviewed the book as follows - The second presents us with an ejaculatory petition for every day in the year, encouraging the expectation of the supplicant by the presence of some corresponding assurance; thus exhibiting, in beautiful harmony, the duty of prayer, and the privilege of confidence'.
