About This Item

Chicago, IL: Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. Very Good-. 1939. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Booklet. This is a small format paperback (approx. 4" x 5") , with cardstock covers and a stapled spine. The book is in Very Good- condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The book covers have some bumping, rubbing and edge wear. There is a previous owner's inked name on the top edge of the front cover. The text pages are generally clean, though there are occasional spots of foxing. There is a previous owner's address label and a label from a radio station on the front inside cover. "In the 1940’s, Mr. Overholtzer’s wife Ruth — a graduate of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (now Biola University) — took on the role of writing Good News Club’s first set of curriculum. Ruth was strongly influenced by Biola dean and professor R. A. Torrey, one of the most famous evangelists of his day and editor and co-author of the widely influential The Fundamentals: A Testimony to the Truth (1910-1915) , which gave early 20th-century “fundamentalism” its name."
