This volume opens with a 31-page illustrated timeline and history of the Magic Lantern including images and details of specific models followed by a photographic history of the camera and photographic equipment, from the 1840s to the 1970s, with about 6 cameras per page with detailed descriptions. Chapters on cameras include box types, plate models, stereoscope cameras, SLR, instamatics, 2 1/4, specialty cameras, etc. There is a separate chapter on projectors, one on accessories, and lenses.
