Bound in green cloth with border and center decoration stamped in blind on boards; series title, title, and illustration of a fairy stamped in gilt on spine. Boards have shelf-wear present to the extremities (boards are chipped and worn to the extremities). No ownership marks present. Foxing present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Daffy-down-dilly is a daffodil flower and is the basis for this nursery rhyme. Daffy-down-dillyHas come to townWith a yellow petticoatAnd a pretty green gown. The author has written a very unusual tale with the flower represented by a fairy who goes on a series of adventures. The illustration are quite unusual with an early depiction of Mother Goose and a Cyclopes. Rather scarce and if anyone else out there has some info on this book, please share it with me.
