The author, a military historian, examines George Armstrong Custer's Civil War battles, in which demonstrated his ability to achieve victories (he was promoted to Brigadier General from Staff Captain). The text includes a number of helpful maps as well as photos and illustrations. First published by Fairleight Dickinson in 1983, it was reprinted by this publisher (the date is not recorded). Original publisher's red spine over black covers with gilt spine lettering. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. The dust jacket in similarly nice condition with no chips, tears, or markings and is not price-clipped (35.00). This is a nice copy that would make a fine addition to any library. ; B&W Photographs, Illustrations & Maps; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 308 pages .
