Marbled paper boards with brown leather spine & corners, 392 pp, bw illustrations throughout. Volume IV. Additional subtitle: Illustrated with engravings of farm houses and farm buildings, improved breeds of cattle, horses, sheep, swine and poultry, farm implements, domestic utensils, &c. Still contains the motto, "To improve the soil and the mind" on the front page of each issue. Includes table of contents and/or index, as well as state-by-state list of agents and correspondents. Contains advice on crops, domestic animals, native and non-native plants, household tips, commodity price lists, and much more. Fun for browsing for 19th-century history fans and those interested in historic sustainability practices. Some articles include drawings or engraving reproductions. Uncommon.
