Grey-blue card covers with various Renaissance cooking motifs, with original mylar covers, short nick at the top of the mylar. Moderate shelf wear, interior clean and unmarked except a white sticker covering an owner's name. Includes preliminary materials on the little blue books produced for edification of the general population from the 17th-19th centuries. One of these included La Varenne's revolutionary Le Cuisinier Francois (1651) , which is here reproduced, along with Le Patissier Francois; Le Confiturier Francois and the brief Le Cuisiner Friand. Entirely in French; Bibliotheque Bleue; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 543 pages .
