The text is illustrated with 15 black-and-white illustrations and/or photographs and eight black-and-white line drawings, throughout the text. Black coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Bumping to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the book edges. Light age toning of the text block edge and of the internal text. Plain text dustwrapper with red mottled colour background with white titles to the front panel and backstrip. Chipping to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the other dustwrapper edges. Browning and staining of the rear dustwrapper panel and rubbing to the front panel. Clipping of the dustwrapper, and fold over, lower right-hand corner. Black-and-white photograph of author to the rear of fold over panel. A history of Britain and its relationship with its monarchy from the French Revolution up until the time of writing the book.
