Illustrated with 15 B&W reproductions of paintings by Irish artists. Padraic Colum (1881-1972) was an Irish poet, novelist, dramatist, biographer, playwright, children's author and collector of folklore. He was one of the leading figures of the Irish Literary Revival. Colum was a prolific author and published a total of 61 books, not counting his plays. This book is a collection of stories describing the three-fold landscape of Ireland: the natural, the historical, and the psychic; the psychic being expressed in myth, legend, poetry, and art..
