The University of Chicago, 1974. Soft cover. Good. 228 pages. The inaugural issue of this academic thick journal. Includes Wayne C. Booth on Kenneth Burke and Burke's rejoinder; Quentin Bell "Art and the Elite"; Frank Kermode on novels; a story and essay about it by Eudora Welty. Trade paperback-sized, wraps worn especially with rubbing along spine, which is creased; some spots of foxing to the edges. Page 219-20, the first page of Welty's essay, is detached from the binding but in place (other individual pages might possibly come loose); first signature was detached and has been reglued. From the library of Prof. Ann E. Berthoff, her underscoring and/or marginalia on approximately 25 pages in the Burke section, those of Prof. Warner Berthoff on around 15 pages of the Kermode essay, one or two other marks observed.

Shipping charge may be reduced on some books weighing less than 1 lb to U.S. addresses. International Priority shipping charges may be reduced on books that fit in a USPS small flat-rate box. International Standard (First-Class Package International) shipping charges may be reduced for a second or more books if the total package weight does not exceed 2 lb.
