London: Longmans, Green and Co, 1874. Leather. Good. 7.5" by 5" . None. A collection of essays by Macaulay which includes essays which were originally published in the Edinburgh Review. Authorised edition. Essays include those on: Milton, Machiavelli, Southey's Edition of the Pilgrim's Progress, and Moore's Life of Lord Byron. Lord Macaulay was a British poet, historian and Whig politician. He wrote extensively as an essayist, a reviewer and on British history. In a half morocco binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, sound but with some wear to extremities and occasional marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Bright and generally clean throughout but with the odd slight foxing and scattered foxing to endpapers. Good
