First edition. 8vo. 329, (3) pp. Illustrations from wood engravings, plates, portrait plates of the authors, maps, one folding, plans. The war ended in August, 1814, when Gen. Andrew Jackson forced the Creek Confederacy to cede over 20 million acres of land in Alabama and Georgia. With the ownership signature "A.W. Halbert / Starkville, Miss." on the front endpaper. Howes H-28: "Careful and detailed monograph on Alabama's last border war." Hinges staring, a good copy, but much better than usually encountered. Original plum cloth (flecked), gilt spine title (dull), floral endpapers. (9112).
