Sei morelli e quattro bai, Aria with an Accompaniment for the Piano Forte ... Price 2/6. From the opera Le trame deluse. London: C. Lonsdale (late Birchall & Co.) [PN 2419], [after 1834]. Folio. 10 pp., 1f. (recto blank, verso publisher's advertisement). Le trame deluse, to a libretto by Diodati, was first performed in Naples at the Teatro Nuovo on 7 December 1786.

Slightly worn and soiled; spines reinforced with tissue, now somewhat cockled. Minor browning and showthrough; pagination in ink to outside upper outer corners of "Sei morelli;" name in manuscript to p.1 of "Nò non credo." "Cimarosa was always able to write music suffused with lightness, elegance and finesse. ...One of Cimarosa's strengths was the composition of witty and vivacious ensembles. Il matrimonio segreto, an ensemble opera in the style of Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, is composed of eight arias, four duets, three trios, a quartet, a quintet and two finales featuring all six characters. Frequently his operas begin with a trio or a quartet, and he excelled at creating large-scale chain finales. Although Cimarosa's characters do not display layers of Mozartian complexity, he was capable of depicting human emotions in a touching but not over-sentimental manner, as in the opening duet 'Cara non dubitar' from Il matrimonio segreto." Jennifer E. Johnson and Gordana Lazarevich in Grove Music Online.
