This is a charming, antique children's music book - "CREATURE SONGS" with words and music by Louise Ayres Garnett. 1912 1st edition; Oliver Ditson Company; Boston. (Note - while the book is undated, the November 30, 1912 issue of the publication "The Music Trade Review" lists "Creature Songs" as a "newly published work.") The book is wonderfully illustrated with drawings accompanying each song by PETER NEWELL. There are ten songs in all, as follows: Rigamarole; Four Paws; The Poetic Giraffe; The Hop-Toad; The Pig with the Curly Q Tail; Quacks; The Bow-wow Tree; Sympathy; The Boastful Kangaroo; Observations.Condition:Light foxing along the right and bottom edges of the front cover, and at the bottom-right corner of the back cover. The back cover has some small stains and smudges, and a bit of light "bubbling" beneath the cloth at the top edge. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached.
