About This Item

London: Frederick Muller, 1971. Cloth. Fine/Near Fine. 9.5" by 6.5". Alberto Beltran. A Mexican legend, accompanied by beautiful colour illustrations and written by elusive writer B. Traven. B. Traven was the pen name of a novelist whose biographical information has been debated over decades. It is known that he lived in Mexico for a length of time, and most of his fiction work reflects this. Some believe that the identity was used by Ret Marut, a German actor and anarchist. This work details the tale of a young hero named Chicovaneg who must re-ignite the sun after it is extinguished by evil spirits. It comes from an age-old Indian piece of folklore.Profusely illustrated with colour illustrations by Albert Beltran. In an unclipped dust wrapper. In the publisher's original full cloth binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. Dust wrapper is in excellent condition, with minor shelf wear only. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean. Fine
