When Scott arrived in Hollywood in 1927 with his wife Zelda, he saw the chance to weave into reality his life-dream of a happiness made of love, money, and drama. The glittering movie town at first fed the dreamby giving the Fitzgeralds a royal reception and the author a 'feeling of new worlds to conquer'. But when Hollywood turned golden, Fitzgerald's chance to conquer it got lost somewhere in the vast obscurity of the big studio machine.
