A sumptuously-produced illustrated edition of Longfellow's 1858 narrative poem, set in the year 1621 during the early days of the Plymouth Colony, and centered around a love triangle between three Mayflower passengers. Octavo (19.25cm); light grey cloth, with titles stamped in gilt, and pictorial elements stamped in black, brown, teal, pale grey, and cream on front cover; pictorial endpapers; all edges gilt; dustjacket; [5],6-159,[1], with frontispiece and 11 color plates; illus. A fresh, Fine copy in a Very Good or better example of the scarce dustjacket, lightly edgeworn and gently spine-sunned, with a few tiny nicks, tears, and attendant creases, shallow loss at crown, and a tear at upper rear joint.
