Atlanta: The Illustrator Company (Successor to Southern States Publishing Co, 1896. First Edition. Leather bound. Fair. Folio. (approx. 14" x 11") 504 pages. Illustrated. Dark brown "roan" leather binding with gilt decorated title on the front board. All edges gilt. Leather on the spine is chipped at the head and base. Edge wear to corners. Scratches and light rubs to leather on boards and spine. Damp stains to bottom edges of the text. Front hinge tender but holding. A fair plus copy. Several institutional holdings for this publication but scarce in the trade. The Atlanta Cotton States Exposition was held from September 18th, 1895 to December 31, 1895 on the grounds of current Piedmont Park. It was a huge event attended by hundreds of thousands of visitors.
