Stated First Edition, SIGNED by author, with author-signed letter also laid in; in clean unclipped original dust jacket. Clean hardcover book, light beige boards with burgundy lettering on spine. No fraying or wear, spine lightly bumped. Binding is tight, hinges are sound - no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Slight lean to text block. Inscribed and signed by author on front free endpaper: "For Mabel and Harold with the best wishes of their old friend, Cyril Harris - 20 March 1953.' Handwritten, signed letter laid in (in which the author thanks Mabel for taking the photo which appears on the back of the jacket). 274 pages. Clean bright illustratated dust jacket is not price clipped, unchipped, one closed corner edge tear, very slight fading to spine; enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. A novel set in 1850 in Peekskill, New York, during worker tension amidst Irish miners. .
