About This Item

Norfolk, CT: New Directions, 1939. 363 pp., brown cloth w/ gold lettering to spine; Dust jacket in clear archival cover; Book shows light bumping to corners of boards & ends of spine w/ some minor soil & discolorations to cloth; foxed or browned areas to endpapers; 2 pages have small pen notations; Jacket is missing rear panel & spine panel; remainder shows wear, chipping small creases & short tears to edges w/ a number of small nicks & rubs to front panel / The precise edition of this particular copy is something of a mystery. Here are the bibliographic points as I have found them: 1) It is bound in brown cloth, as in the 3rd edition, but has lettering on the spine, which the 3rd is not supposed to have. 2) The text from "A Word from the Publisher" (which is listed in the contents) is missing, as in the 2nd and 3rd editions. 3) The jacket (remnant) front panel has the photo of the "eye in the sky," as in a 1st edition, but carries a three-dollar price, as in a 2nd or 3rd. 4) The title work, "The Cosmological Eye," is not included, as in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions. /. Hard Cover. Good to Very Good/Poor. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

About High Castle Books

Hi! My name is Leigh Holleschau, proprietor of High Castle Books. We are located in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, about five miles from the Mexican border. The best-known city which people commonly associate with the area is Brownsville. Our address is 2431 Camino Real Viejo, Mercedes, TX 78579-9486. If you wish to contact us by phone at 956-565-2822, we are usually available between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Central Time. E-mail: HCBooks@rgv.rr.com Rather than divide our stock up into seemingly endless categories, I have coded each item with multiple keywords. This way you can create your own categories. The best way to do this is to use the 'search inventory' function on this page, rather than the 'browse' function, since 'search' accepts not only keywords, but author, title, publisher and other information. For example you could enter the keyword 'mystery' to see all mysteries in stock, and you could further refine your search by selecting the 'first edition' option as well, thereby displaying only first edition mysteries, etc.
