Pope, Research Associate, Department of Marine Invertebrates, the Australian Museum, Sydney, acknowledgements, and index. Bright blue coloured endpapers. The text is illustrated with wonderful colour photography taken by Walter Deas. There is also the occasional black and white illustration and figures. Bright blue coloured boards with white titles to the backstrip. Rubbing to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and shelf wear to the lower book edges. A small scorch mark and evidence of rough removal of a sticker to the top right-hand corner of the free front end paper. Photographic dustwrapper, ( wraparound ) with four smaller photographs to the front dustwrapper panel. Green, purple and white titles to the front panel and backstrip. Rubbing and a little chipping to the dustwrapper edges and a faint marking to the laminate of the dustwrapper.
