London: Bloomsbury, 2002. First UK edition. 8vo, 170, [1]pp. Signed by Gaiman on the title page and inscribed to the former owner with Rat Sketch. Pictorial paper boards in illustrated jacket. Page block toned, old price sticker to inner front flap of jacket, light edge wear. Near fine.
Signed first printing of the U.K. edition of Gaiman's classic children's story. Compared to its U.S. counterpart with the Dave McKean illustrations and published by Harper Collins in the same year, this U.K. edition is much less commonly found signed.
Synopsis
Coraline is a fantasy/horror novel by British author Neil Gaiman, published in 2002 by Bloomsbury and Harper Collins. It was awarded the 2003 Hugo Award for Best Novella, the 2003 Nebula Award for Best Novella, and the 2002 Bram Stoker Award for Best Work for Young Readers. It has been compared to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and has been adapted into a 2009 stop-motion film directed by Henry Selick.
