Hardcover has maroon cloth-covered boards with white spine and cover lettering and decorations. Deckle fore edges. Top page edges are dyed yellow. 524 pages. By Lois Diat, Chef, Ritz-Carlton Hotel, New York City. NOT ex-library. Binding tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed, with some fraying at tips and spine ends. Covers have moderate edge wear and surface rubbing. Pages lightly tanned, more so at periphery, but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. Bottom pages edges have some spots and small spatters. Dust jacket has overall surface rubbing, chipped and nicked edges, small to 1 inch tears, and creases. Spine of jacket is slightly faded. Dust jacket is NOT price clipped. Jacket is in a removable clear plastic protective cover. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.

The binding is strong with all pages firmly attached. The author wrote "Best Wishes, Louis Diat" on the first end paper. There is some light soiling along the fore edge. The pages are otherwise clean with no tears. The copyright page shows 1941 as the published date. The maroon cloth board covers have white text and designs. The covers show general edgewear and scuff marks. This old book looks and feels great! We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!
