About This Item

New York:: Mysterious Press,, (1996.). SIGNED first edition -. Very near fine in glossy illustrated wrappers (upper corner slightly bumped).. Advance Reading Copy (trade paperback format. ) The fifth DKA File novel - like Ed McBain, Gores uses an entire team of sleuths - the investigators of the Daniel Kearny Associates - in his gritty realistic novels. One review described the 'private-eye procedural as Gores' specialty, maybe his invention.' Set in San Francisco. SIGNED on the title page and with a long inscription on the half title page to the late Oklahoma collector Larry Owens in which Gores says "Don't even try to read this" as he explains why it is so full of typos - he ends with the comment "On readers such as you are writing careers built." Dated in 1998. 309 pp.
