About This Item
[Mount Vernon, NY]: [Editions], 1992. Accordion. Fine. Oblong 32mo size, 16 pp., signed by Edward H. Hutchins. Book Artist Edward H. Hutchins believes that: everyone has a story to tell; that the best books are not mass-produced; and that when one let's one's imagination soar, the most amazing creations are possible utilizing, often, fairly inexpensive materials. Thus was born - Guerilla Bookmaking.
Ed Hutchins has produced at least over eighty books between the years 1968 and 2005 (perhaps more - gleaned from several sources). Always creative and frequently carrying a social justice message, Ed's books charm and delight. His own web site offers a few books which are still in print; this volume presents a series of words (each beginning with the letter "C") which, at the beginning, are identical and confrontational but, as the book progresses, the words diverge and encourage the reader to move towards a mutual understanding; this volume out of print, and we are pleased to offer it here.
___DESCRIPTION: Accordion structure with the two end sheets tipped between heavy bright blue cardstock paper with black lettering, cutouts on both wraps (on the front, a cannon firing and on the back a lamb lying down), black lettering on the spine, each page a riotous presentation of images, mostly recognizable persons from history, which underlies the message of the book, each page with two words, one printed "upside-down", each beginning with "C" and which, in effect, speak the message, signed in blue ink by Ed Hutchins on the front wrap; oblong 32mo size (4.5" by 3"), unpaginated with seven leaves (uncut on one side) plus the two pages tipped into the wraps, sixteen printed pages.
___CONDITION: Fine, clean throughout, straight corners without rubbing, the binding strong, and entirely free of prior owner markings; crisp and as new.
___POSTAGE: International customers, please note that additional postage may apply as the standard does not always cover costs; please inquire for details.
___Swan's Fine Books is pleased to be a member of the ABAA, ILAB, and IOBA and we stand behind every book we sell. Please contact us with any questions you may have, we are here to help.
