Burgos: Felipe Junta (Philippum Iuntam). Good with no dust jacket. 1575. First Edition. Vellum. [16], cclxiiij [ie cclxxiiij], [52] pp, including blank R10. Folio, old crisp vellum, ties missing, crudely rebacked with vellum, yapp edges worn and chipped. "Handmade" fly leaves, the front from an old Spanish sheet, the rear an old Latin sheet, leaves browned and chipped at edges. Book block is loose at the front but strongly tied still at the back. Loose bookplate of Louisiana writer Stuart Omar Landry and an old manuscript note. Title page with old owner name scratched out, woodcut arms of Diego Covarrubias y Leyva (the dedicatee). Paper is browned throughout, occasional small stains or worm tracks. Scarce at auction and in commerce. Arranged alphabetically, by subject, double columns, with an index. The first edition, an attempt to reconcile the law codes of Navarre and Castile with Roman law. OCLC 10996917 ; Folio 13" - 23" tall; 274 pages .
