Fair Condition/No Dust Jacket. prize binding with, to front cover, gilt emblem of 'Devonport High School for Girls'; prize label in red & black inside front cover dated 'Christmas, 1899'; tissue-guarded b/w. frontis. engraving of Longfellow; illustrated title page (b/w. engraving of Longfellow's home in Cambridge, Massachusetts); Table of Contents; followed by biographical sketch by H. E. Scudder. Based on the Riverside Edition of the writings of Longfellow, which was published in eleven volumes in 1886 (which included six volumes of verse); this Cambridge Edition contains the entire text as published in the six volumes of verse, and such condensed bibliographical and other notes as seem desirable for the general reader and compatible with the limitations of a one-volume edition First Thus. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. xxi + 689. some marks & blemishes to covers. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Slight foxing front/rear pages, but body of book mostly clean and unfoxed. Deckled outer & bottom edges (rough cut). Top edge gilt, faded. Gilt titles spine & front. Light bumping to outer corners; some migration of red colour from covers to some page margins. Includes appendix, index of first lines, plus index of titles.. Quantity Available: 1.
