Each volume with an extra, decorative title page. A fine and clean set with a few of the gatherings still unopened. Finely bound, by Riviere, in early twentieth century quarter vellum with single raised bands. Green title labels, ruled and lettered in gilt. Arts and Crafts style tall flower design with stems, leaves and flower in gilt to each spine. Blue cloth on boards. Top edges gilt, others untrimmed. Some minor marks to the cloth on a few of the boards but the spines all clean and the gilt bright so the set looks great on the shelf. A very attractive set of vellum bindings.

Finely bound, for Hatchards, in early full dark purple morocco. Spine with five raised bands, each with gilt piping. Compartments lettered and decorated in gilt. Front board with elaborate decorative floral design in gilt, embellished with red morocco inlay dots. Rear board with double gilt ruled border with red inlay dots to the corners of the inner border. Board edges with single gilt rule. Inner board edges with tripe ruled line borders and dotted corners. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Some very light rubbing to extremities and the colouring is faintly darker to the outer boards but overall a lovely copy in a highly decorative early twentieth century fine leather binding.

"The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin is the traditional name for the unfinished record of his own life written by Benjamin Franklin from 1771 to 1790; however, Franklin himself appears to have called the work his Memoirs. Although it had a tortuous publication history after Franklin's death, this work has become one of the most famous and influential examples of an autobiography ever written. Franklin's account of his life is divided into four parts, reflecting the different periods at which he wrote them.

Ikebana Arranging Images; Kamata, Soseke, 1950's. A nice publication given to Julia Jane Jeffers Dodge while here husband was helping Japan recover after the war. Her husband Joseph Morrell Dodge had a long and distinguished career and tried to help reform Europe but later wound up as financial advisor to Douglas MacArthur in the economic revitalization of Japan. This edition is in very good condition internally. Photos of Ikebana arrangements by the famous Japan Ikebana master. A gift given to Julia Jeffers Dodge and placed in her library. 38 single sided (double page but other side blank) on high quality Japan paper with photo examples of Ikebana, black and white. A rare publication.

Top corner of back board shows slight wear; top edges of pages show some spotting (see pic). This is a special Collector's Edition Easton Press printing (with white bookmark) bound in leather, illustrated by Bob Eggleton with an introduction by Charles Sheffield.
