About This Item
Augustus M. Kelley. As New with no dust jacket. 1967. reprint. Hard Cover. No underlining, highlighting, or other marks. No dust jacket, else looks new. Includes one fold-out table. An important early book examing the life insurance in England by the computer pioneer. As ever, Babbage did not hesitate to provoke controversy. For example, he argues that a soliciter who recommends a life insurance company to his client, should not accept a payment from said company, a "commission", for steering business its way, unless this conflict of interest is revealed to the client. Babbage goes on to list the names of the companies who "unblushingly" offer such commissions. ; 170 pages .
