Illustrated by John Leech with 10 hand colored plates and vignette line drawings. All edges gilt. Book plate of former owner inside front cover. Slightly shaken and moderate wear to spine ends. A nice clean copy with colored plates which still retain their vibrancy. Near very good.. Reprint. Hardcover. Near Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Gilt to all page edges. Illustrated throughout in black & white, & with hand coloured illustrated plates. One plate is missing pg. 138. Wear to outer extremities; some rubbing to gilt on front board & spine. Pages are age darkened with some intermittent soiling, foxing toward boards, some rippling to pastedowns. A punctured tear to the first free endpage has been neatly repaired. Previous owner's signature to the upper first free endpage.

Mustard coloured half morroco over patterned paper boards, same patterned endpapers, top edge gilt, bookplate to front paste-down. The leather is foxed and darkened. Gilt stamped lettering and images of ancient weapons stamped in black to two compartments. Endpapers lightly foxed, contents clean and the binding tight and square. Signed binding by New Yorker W. Bennett.

Illustrated with 10 full-page hand-colored steel etchings and with smaller wood engravings in text. Octavo. xii,308 pp. Full calf skillfully rebacked, with decoratively gilt-tooled spine, with two green lettering pieces, laid-down. Inside dentelles gilt, green coated endpapers, with bookplate on front pastedown. An attractive copy, with only slight darkening of spine and edges of boards. Two leaves have short tears at edges and, near the end, there is a shallow dampstain at the top edge of some pages, which does not affect text or illustrations; otherwise the interior is quite clean.
