The "definitive, complete and official" history of Colt firearms from 1836 to the present (1979) researched and written by firearms expert and historian, R.L. Wilson. First edition, first printing (with complete numberline). About 11 x 8 3/4 inches, 358 pages including bibliography, index and serial number appendix. Also contains over 250 full-color photos and 105 in b & w. Bound in dark-blue cloth-covered boards with white lettering on spine. Pictorial dustjacke's front panel shows series of photos of Colt presentation pistols and revolvers and of Samuel Colt with black lettering against grey background. Back panel displays photos of presentation 1851 Navy Colt to Czar Nicholas I in 1854 and presentation Colt Python .357 for Colt Board Chairman George Strichman. Please note: This copy is ex-library, from a public library's reference department. It has library markings on text edges and end papers and gllue residue on fep where card pocket was removed. O/w the book and dj were well-protected by a heavy-duty Brodart protector and show only minimal surface and edge wear. No bumped corners, no chipped spine ends, no creases or scratches on dj. It is complete, clean and unmarked. Makes a very useful, very good-looking but economical reference work for a private library.
