Burgundy cloth, gilt letters on spine, stamped decoration on front cover, (xxiv, 398 pp. and xx, 354 pp.). 1000+ bw plates. An affordable reading copy of this classic two-volume set. Vol. I has an eighteen-page introduction followed by the following chapters: Chests, Chests of Drawers, Cupboards and Sideboards, Desks and Scrutories, Looking-Glasses. Vol. II has the following chapters: Chairs; Settees, Couches and Sofas; Tables; Bedsteads; and Clocks. The prolific illustrations add a great deal to this excellent reference. This third edition has supplementary chapters and one hundred and thirty six additional plates. Shipping weight is 12 pounds.
