Illustrated with 40 black & white photographs on coated paper and a map, along with a large color folding map bound in at rear. Appendices, bibliography and index. Bound in blue-green cloth, borders blind stamped front and back, front gilt stamped with Colombia coat of arms, spine stamped with gilt lettering. Gilt top edge. Buenos Aires bookseller tag on front pastedown ("Mitchell Book Stores"). Owner book-stamp on pastedowns, which are lightly foxed. Front cover color rubbed at upper left (see photo). South American Series Volume X. A businessman's candid assessment of conditions in Colombia in the early 20th century, sensitive to the native point of view, by a son of sugar industry pioneer James Martin Eder.
