In these postcards, Gatliff writes about his many crossings of the English Channel, the most recent in a 'heavy swell,' time spent at Paris Plage, 'a popular seaside resort with sandy beach not shingles,' Stonehenge, which he can seee 'quite plainly from the door of my hut.' Postcards depict Le Havre (x2), Paris Plage and Stonehenge. Charles Edwin Gatliff also fought in the Boer War with the Scots Mounted Railway Guards and The Canadian Scouts.. Good. Manuscript.
