About This Item
New York: Macmillan, 1951. Book has slightly bumped corner. Spine lettering and design is dull, modest cover wear. What makes this copy of special interest is that it includes a Western Union telegram from Carl W. Ackerman secretary of the Pulitzer Prize Committee to the author Louis Untermeyer informing him that Moore had been awarded the Prize for this volume. Untermeyer has added several newspaper clippings to the volume. Attached to the rear free endpaper is an envelope containing a brief signed note from Moore thanking Untermeyer for his kind message. . Signed by the Poet. Later Printing. Original Cloth Hardcover. NVG/No Jacket.
