London: Methuen, 1988. Hb, xiv + 226pp, b/w photos. Good with clean contents and slight page tanning in a Good+ dj which has only marginal wear. Life and times of the impresario, Charles B. Cochran ( 1872-1951) , who " virtually invented revue before the First World War" and went on to work in cabaret and English theatre, the latter especially with Noel Coward. He staged a wide range of entertainments from rodeos to the Ballet Russes, and launched the careers of several female stars such as Anna Neagle and Jessie Matthews.. Hard Cover. Good/Good.
